Import recordings
- Your Tesla saves its recordings to the TeslaCam folder on the USB drive, in RecentClips, SavedClips and SentryClips. Connect the drive to your iPhone or iPad, or copy the folder to Files.
- In Tescam, tap + and select the MP4 clips of one event.
- Tescam copies the clips and names the event after its first clip's start time. Importing the same recording again is refused, so you don't end up with duplicates.
Play
- Open an event and tap Play to choose a camera. Its clips play one after another as a single recording.
- Tap a clip to play just that clip, or long-press it for a preview.
- Pinch or double-tap to zoom in. Tap the video to show or hide the controls.
- Swipe down, or from the left edge of the screen, to go back to the clips. While zoomed in, swiping down moves the video instead.
Time and driving data
The clock and speedometer buttons show or hide the time and the driving data over the video. The time comes from the clips' names. Speed, gear, steering, pedals and turn signals appear only when your car recorded them into the clips; otherwise they show as dashes.
Export and share
While playing, tap the Share button. Tescam combines the clips into one video, burning in the time and driving data that are shown, then lets you save it to Photos or share it. On iOS 26 and later, the export keeps going if you switch to another app, and the system shows its progress. On earlier versions, keep Tescam open until the export finishes.
Storage
Imported clips are copies kept in Tescam on your device. They aren't included in iCloud or device backups, so keep your original recordings. To free up space, swipe left on an event in the list and delete it.
Requirements
iOS 18 or later, on iPhone and iPad.
